Sack Truck: A man loses his job as a result of a perfect storm of a confused memory (of a Viz comic character) and the fast-changing social mores of the modern world – all prompted by the innocent misunderstanding surrounding the use of a ‘sack truck’.

It was an innocuous question by the young colleague that prompted the middle-aged manager’s remark that resulted in him ending up sitting opposite the Human Resources manager. His honest, innocent response to another question by the ‘cute’ HR manager resulted in a visit to a doctor for a psychological evaluation, but that conversation did not go too well either. So, caught in an increasingly legal pickle, he decides to research his defence options in a library; unfortunately, that too soon finds him at a table in police interview room one, listening to his legal counsel. Released without charge, he ruminates on an eventful week in the modern world - from having a job one minute to explaining one’s skills at a job centre the next. It’s a mad, mad world….or is it an age thing?
