Scary Afternoon in the Garden: Writing in his journal, an eleven year old boy excitedly describes what happened in his garden one really, really scary afternoon.

Living on the outskirts of town with his mother, father and sister, the eleven year old boy believes his family is protected from the creatures that lurk in the woods by the wire fences surrounding the town. He had never seen the creatures up close because they had never crossed the field that lay between the woods and his garden…until today. But he was not the only one watching the creatures’ advance; so were older teenage neighbours - Sam, Nick and Jonny. Sadly, Sam, Nick and Jonny were stupid. They thought that being almost proper men, they could confront the creatures with ease. Big mistake! The resulting fight between man and beast was a bloody horror show of gore. In a word, it was great! Locked behind reinforced glass, the young author had had a ringside seat! And now he’s written everything down to share with anyone who will listen….or rather read.

“It’s been a really scary afternoon…but I never screamed.”
